Our latest Travel Wags hero is New Zealander Taryn Gibbs who spent three years rescuing a stray dog.
The dog, dubbed motorway girl, lived on the side of an off-ramp in Auckland, the country's largest city.
Taryn was driving past one day when she spotted the dog. She tried desperately to coax motorway girl to come nearer but she was too scared too frightened of humans.
Little did Taryn know it would take her THREE years of visiting every day to finally rescue the dog.
Motorway Girl is now named Lillica and is being trained up ready for her new home. We have donated a Travel Wags dog walking bag to both her trainer and to Taryn who continues to rescue dogs in New Zealand.
